Mayor & City Council

The five Council votes that decide the rezoning.

The City Council holds the final vote on the rezoning application. Each member is reachable directly. A short, personal email or voicemail from a real resident matters.

Planning Commission

Where the recommendation begins.

The Planning Commission reviews the rezoning request first and recommends approval or denial to the City Council. Their meetings are at City Hall on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Public comment is welcome.

For unincorporated residents, your direct elected representative is your County Commissioner.

The Johnson County Board of Commissioners does not vote on Gardner zoning, but the Commissioner represents you on county-level land use, regional planning, infrastructure, and emergency-service capacity, and can speak publicly on impacts to unincorporated residents.
